The Joshua Tree è una pietra miliare, un frammento di storia, tra spiritualità e universalità. Il capolavoro dei magnifici quattro, di concerto con Eno e Lanois, che oltre a firmare la produzione entrano profondamente tra le pieghe e i cardini del suono del gruppo. Non c'è una sola nota sbagliata, gli undici brani non fanno una grinza e l'abbrivio risulta addirittura fulminante con Where The Streets Have No Name, Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For e With Or Without You, una sequenza da miracolati. I testi sanno essere epici e intimisti, con la vocalità di Bono che li rende incandescenti: uno degli album centrali del decennio. Un battistrada irrinunciabile.
